Many of his friends were involved with gangs and eventually Hector fell to the pressure to become involved in that lifestyle. This choice proved disastrous as he began to sell crack cocaine. Completely consumed by the streets and being in “the game”, he began to do more than just sell crack, he became addicted to it. Involving himself in more and more “social” activities led to more and more trouble. Hector soon began to drinking alcohol, smoke marijuana, take hallucinates and many other things associated with that lifestyle. In the midst of his life being destroyed by this “street” mentality, a child was born. With the birth of his first daughter, Hector realized that he needed to leave the streets and the gangs. Although the “streets” became dormant in his life, he never stopped abusing the drugs that he had become addicted to. In an attempt to support his new family, Hector found full time work at a factory. This is where he met a follower of Jesus Christ, a man who would change his life forever. Hectors boss was a Christian. He had an unimaginable impact on his life. His boss truly walked the life of Jesus. Hector was shocked as he witnessed nothing but joy and peace in this mans life. One day, Hector was wearing a huge silver chain and a pendant of Jesus. He wore this medallion mostly for fashion, but he also thought it had some religious value as well. His boss, being led by the Holy Spirit, shocked Hector when He explained how God was not in the medallion. He pointed at Hectors heart and explained how God wanted to be in there. Hector was in awe. He thought to himself, “How could this untouchable God, creator of the universe want to be in me? I am not worthy; God can’t love an ugly person like me.” Hector saw his present life and his pass life and saw no hope of change. As soon as his boss shared the gospel though, tears began to fall down Hectors face. He asked this man how he could be saved too and sure enough His boss led him in the sinner’s prayer. They both dropped to their knees and prayed to Jesus for eternal salvation. Hector got saved at the age of 21. From that day forward, he was freed from all of his addictions to alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana and crack cocaine. By the mercy and grace of God he has never stepped foot into a rehabilitation center and he has never had a relapse. Hector has no doubt in his mind or heart that God is real. He believes that just like all Christians, lovers of Christ, that he is Living Proof that there is a God. Living Proof has been evangelizing for 7yrs. Today he is a worker in the end time harvest of the Lord, planting the seed of the Word in the fields of this world with the gift God has giving him, rap music.
